Alexandra Buckner is a training analyst and is licensed as an independent clinical social worker in the District of Columbia. She has taught and lectured on Jungian psychology and dream analysis. She received her Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of New York in 1993.
Kathryn Cook-Deegan, Jungian Analyst and licensed psychoanalyst, was graduated from the International School of Analytical Psychology, Zurich (ISAPZurich) in 2009 after work in the public and private sectors. She has a special interest in the interface between body and soul as well as one's sense of place in the world. She appreciates the stories and international perspectives of foreign-born clients and welcomes them to her practice. She holds masters' degrees in Classics and Public Administration. She is a professional member of JAWA, AGAP, IAAP and Yoga Alliance, and serves on the board of the Jungian International Training Zurich Foundation (www.jitzurich.org). Melanie Starr Costello, Ph.D., a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institut-Zurich, historian and training analyst, practices as a licensed psychologist in Washington, D.C. She earned a doctorate in the History and Literature of Religions from Northwestern University. A former Assistant Professor of History at St. Mary's College of Maryland, Dr. Costello has taught and published on the topics of psychology and religion, medieval spirituality and clinical practice. Her study of the link between illness and insight entitled, Imagination, Illness and Injury: Jungian Psychology and the Somatic Dimensions of Perception, is published by Routledge press. Currently her work explores archetypal currents running through the collective psyche in our times—a topic she takes up in her workshops on the Stranger, Aging and Spirituality, and Ecology and Individuation.
Jeanne Creekmore, PhD, ATR-BC is a graduate of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and she practices in the Washington D.C. area. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio and a masters in art therapy from George Washington University in Washington D.C. Jeanne is interested in how art and creativity can be used to access the unconscious and aid in healing. Her most recent work is about the use of collage as an aide in analysis.
Sondra Geller has a master’s degree in Art Therapy from The George Washington University. She received her Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts. She is a Jungian Analyst, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist. She is a member of JAWA, AATA, IRSJA, IAAP, and PAJA. She is in private practice in Washington, DC near Dupont Circle. She lectures and gives workshops for The George Washington University Art Therapy Master's Program, Philadelphia Jung Institute/PAJA, the Jung Society of Washington and the C.G. Jung Institute in Kusnacht, Switzerland. Her focus is on Making Art in the Presence of the Analyst, Jung and Aging and Jungian Art Therapy. She was recently guest co-editor of a special issue of Psychological Perspectives, “Aging and Individuation.”
Anne Pickup is a licensed psychotherapist in DC and Maryland with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She received her Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles in 1995. In addition to membership in JAWA she is a founding member of the C.G. Jung Study Center of Los Angeles, faculty member of the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts, member of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and the IAAP.
Janice Quinn holds a Ph.D. equivalency in Analytical Psychology and received her Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. She has masters degrees in Social Work (Virginia Commonwealth University); Public Administration (Harvard University) and in the Arts (Eastman School of Music). Dr. Quinn taught music and worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as well as the U.S. State Department. Her specialties include: self-esteem issues, depressive disorders, midlife crises, PTSD, and anxiety disorders. Dr. Quinn has conducted research on the nexus between spirituality, creativity and depression. She is a member of JAWA, NASW, IAAP, IRSJA and AGAP.
Robert Sheavly is a Jungian Analyst in Washington, DC, Fort Lauderdale, FL and Lisbon, Portugal. He is the director of the Central Washington Psychotherapy Associates and the former Director of Training for the Philadelphia Jung Institute, and has has lectured extensively in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Bob also serves as treasurer of the Jungian Analysts of Washington Association (JAWA) and the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts (PAJA). Bob is a church organist, an avid choral singer who has performed with the National Symphony and other orchestras. He is the author of Ensouling AIDS: The Archetypal Dimension of the LGBT Choral Movement.
Julie Bondanza has a Ph.D. in Human Development and is a Licensed Psychologist in Maryland and New York. She received her Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of New York in 1993. She is a member of JAWA, NAAP, PAJA, IRSJA, APA and MPA.
John Michael Hayes has a long and varied career as a psychologist in the Baltimore-Washington area after receiving his doctorate from Catholic University in 1977. He is a Maryland licensed psychologist and diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology. He first trained as a psychoanalyst, graduating from the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute in 2009, and in 2023 completed Jungian training at the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association in New York City. He has an active practice in Baltimore, where he also teaches and supervises psychiatry residents at the University of Maryland, and teaches pastoral psychology and spirituality at the Ecumenical Institute, St. Mary's Seminary and University. He is on the faculty of the Washington-Baltimore Psychoanalytic Institute and the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association.
Lynda Joslyn is a licensed psychotherapist/social worker and a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute of New York. She is a certified Teaching Member of Sandplay Therapists of America (STA). Lynda is a member of JAWA, IAAP, STA, ISST and NASW.
Phyllis LaPlante is a certified Jungian Analyst and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Diploma from the C.G. Jung Institute of New York in 1998. She teaches courses in Jungian theory and practice in Washington, DC. Semi-retired, she offers short-term consultation.
Joan Linhardt holds a Ph.D. equivalency in Analytical Psychology with national and international certification as a Jungian psychoanalyst. She received her diploma from the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland in 1997. She also has an M.S.W. and is licensed in Virginia where she has a private practice in Herndon. She has had business, local and federal work experience and specializes in relationship issues, personal and organizational, anxiety and depressive disorders, PTSD, midlife crises and cultural issues. Joan works with individuals and couples of all types. Dr. Linhardt is a past president of JAWA and is a member of APA, NASW, IRSJA, NAAP, IAAP, and AGAP.

Rosanne Shepler has been in private practice since 1992. She holds dual licenses as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Psychoanalyst. She received her Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of New York in 2002. She also holds Master's degrees in Health Education and Counseling. She is the past President and Treasurer of JAWA and the past Treasurer of NYAAP where she also held positions on the curriculum committee and the teaching faculty. She is a member of JAWA, the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA), and the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP).
Cathryn Polonchak is a certified Jungian Analyst and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of West Virginia. She has a private practice in the Shepherdstown and the Charles Town/Harpers Ferry areas of West Virginia. In addition to her membership in JAWA, Cathryn is the Director of Seminar for the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts (PAJA), and a member of IRSJA, IAAP, and NASW. She is particularly interested in the interface between body and mind, particularly at the psyche-soma level of trauma.
