Promotes Healing and Life-Changing Awareness
The Jungian Analysts of Washington Association (JAWA) is a group of nationally certified and internationally recognized Jungian analysts practicing in the Washington D.C. Metro area with members reaching as far as Cape Charles, Virginia and West Virginia. JAWA analysts have their own individual therapeutic styles and experience, but we all share a common language and focus on Jungian concepts and ideas that involve depth psychological aspects of life meaning, purposefulness and soul transformation through the use of dream interpretation, active imagination, bodywork and therapy interactions in a private practice setting.
As specialists in the theory and practice of C.G. Jung's Analytical Psychology, JAWA members:
- Offer psychotherapy and counseling to individuals seeking help with psychological difficulties and important life questions.
- Support the development of the personality through depth analysis.
- Sponsor continuing education programming for clinicians.
- Offer lectures and workshops to the public.
- Contribute to the development and advancement of Analytical Psychology through scholarship.
Since 2006 JAWA has presented Saturday workshops during the academic year open to all mental health professionals and students in the area. See the JAWA Calendar of Events for more information.
This year JAWA is privileged to host the 2009 Conference of the Council of the North American Societies of Jungian Analysts (CNASJA), entitled "Love and Power: Use, Misuse and Paradox," October 1-4, 2009, at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. JAWA analysts are available to give presentations at lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences upon request. We are involved in a number of activities for professionals, but we also serve the general public in conjunction with other organizations as well as through individual invitation.
